Simply put, the process of concrete polishing is similar to sanding wood. Rather than using sandpaper, we utilize progressively finer grits of metal diamond-impregnated disks. The same methods are used to polish marble and granite countertops, as well as terrazzo floors.
Leveling phase— After evaluating the project the concrete is first prepared by using a low grit METAL bond diamond disc to smooth out uneven and ruff surfaces. Glue, adhesive, paint and/or coatings are removed with the initial grinds.
Grits: 30#, 60#, 150#
Rough Grinding— Marks left after the leveling phase are removed with a resin grind sequence.
Grits: 50#, 100#, 200#, 400#
If desired, color then is applied.
Any engraving, design patterns and/ or custom logos follow.
An impregnating concrete densifier is then applied. This product soaks penetrates and reacts with the concrete, providing protection from the inside out.
Fine polishing— Marks left after rough grinding are removed to improve the brightness of concrete, Grits: 800# 1500# 3000# .
